Jazmond Carter

Jazmond Carter currently serves as the Area 1 Resource Conservationist at the Area Office in Griffin, GA. Carter attended Fort Valley State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Science – Environmental Soil Science and a Master’s of Public Health. He began his work with NRCS as a student trainee in Abbeville, South Carolina. Carter has worked the majority of his career in Georgia in various NRCS field offices, including Sylvania, Valdosta, Eastman, Buena Vista, Lafayette, Area 1 Office, & State Office. Carter progressed within the agency from Soil Conservationist Technician, Soil Conservationist, District Conservationist, acting State Resource Conservationist, to his current area position as the Area 1 Resource Conservationist. Carter is also a current participant of the Advancing Georgia Leaders in Agriculture & Forestry program.

Carter has also served in collateral duties within NRCS and his community by serving as the Asian American Pacific Islander Program Manager & Secretary for Civil Rights Committees. He has been an active member of the National Organization of Professional Black NRCS Employees (NOPBNRCSE) since 2012. Carter is also a member of the Georgia Chapter of the NOPBNRCSE where he’s held position of Treasurer for the last two terms. Carter continues to build his knowledge within the agency, agricultural world, and he hopes to continue to embark upon new opportunities to grow as an individual.
