Katura N. Wright currently serves as the Assistant State Conservationist-Programs at the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) State Office in Athens, Georgia.
Wright attended Fort Valley State University (FVSU) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Science with a concentration in Soils. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Jackson State University.
She began her work with NRCS as a student trainee while attending FVSU in the Brunswick, GA Service Center. Throughout her career, Wright has worked in various NRCS field offices, state offices in Mississippi, Florida, Vermont, Missouri and now the Georgia State Office. Wright advanced within the agency from Soil Conservationist, Conservation Stewardship Program/Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program Specialist, Environmental Quality Incentives Program Specialist, to her current leadership position as the Assistant State Conservationist for Programs.
