Garrett E. Morris

Garrett E. Morris has served as the Assistant State Conservationist for Programs in Nashville, Tennessee since May 2023.

 
A native of Fayette County, Tennessee, Garrett earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Sciences, with a concentration in Plant and Soil Sciences in 2012 from Tennessee State University. 


He has served in multiple capacities and states since beginning his career with the USDA in 2011 - Student Trainee, Soil Conservationist, District Conservationist, Area Resource Conservationist.

Garrett has actively promoted innovation and equitable treatment in past opportunities. These include serving on a national team for business tool development, Black Special Emphasis Program Manager, Civil Rights Committee Chair, and NOPBNRCSE Southeast Regional Representative. 


Garrett continues to earn honors that recognize significant contributions towards achieving conservation efforts in agriculture. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, personal finance, and adding to his family farm.
